It used to be that living was, by and large, an optimistic affair. Yeah, there have always been problems, and life has a penchant for hostility once in a while, but it was mostly a case of it helping you hone your survival skills. It may very well be that I'm getting Old™ and Frail®, but lately it feels like a constant fight, and we're getting pummelled by hit after hit. We get up, and (sometimes) we actually connect a jab or two, but it's a tiring affair, this "living in the modern world" thing.
This print is a reminder of how we live and fight and love and die in a cosmic judo dance with the world. Sometimes we're on top, and sometimes, we feel the weight of it all on our chest. And maybe, just maybe, the goal's not to win but to keep the dance going. To accept that these ever-changing roles are just part of the play. Part of the lesson. Sometimes we're eaten, and sometimes we survive to fight and hunt another day.
In this print, we survive.
