According to my six semesters in the "Old, Dead Languages and Assorted Gibberish" program at the prestigious San Marino University, Sub Luna means "Under the Moon". When naming this piece, I figured, why lose all the money I spent attending college, right?
Moths are magnificent little beasts, and we have used them as symbols for many things. But a common theme across the board is that they encapsulate transformation and change.
Even though most of the time change means movement, I wanted to paint our fellow moth frozen in time. But not immobile. Cause we go through things as things (and time) go through us. It's just a matter of deciding how to deal with the moment we're in. In this case, with quiet patience under the Moon. It's a trying time, this one we're living through. But most are, and it's up to us to decide what to do with them.
And by the way, if you’re more fiery than patient, this print has a sibling: “Per Solis” that might be more your speed. Or, you can get the bundle, and have the best of both worlds.
